Part 1 of a 3-part series about one Washington science teacher using public health tools to help his students - and himself - make sense of cancer

In spring 2022, Vancouver science teacher Will Baur taught a semester-long cancer unit to his sophomore biology class. To make the material meaningful to his students, he wove in public health data from the Department of Health and Clark County, experts on health care and policy decisions, and students’ lived experiences.
