Friend – what happens when you fundamentally disagree with your son over assisted dying? That’s exactly what our patron, Prue Leith, set out to uncover in her new documentary:
Prue and Danny’s Death Road Trip - Thursday 16th Feb, 9pm on Channel 4
Prue’s experience of her brother’s death left her more certain than ever that assisted dying should be legalised:
“David died of bone cancer – his death was not the fault of the NHS, his cancer was terminal, but they spectacularly failed to manage his pain. No one should have to endure months of pain and die in agony.”
However Prue’s son, the Conservative MP Danny Kruger, disagrees and opposes changing the law. In this eye-opening documentary, the pair fly to places in America and Canada where assisted dying is legal to see how transformative choice at the end of life can be.
Expect deep discussions and first hand accounts from people facing terminal illness, their loved ones and clinicians who support assisted dying, as Prue passionately defends people’s right to die on their own terms.
This documentary is already kick-starting the national conversation on assisted dying and getting coverage from the Mail on Sunday, the Sunday Times and the BBC’s flagship Sunday morning politics programme. I really hope you can tune in this Thursday, 9pm on Channel 4.
Friend, with people like you and Prue on our side, we’re confident we can change the law here in the UK too. But MPs won’t change their mind easily - we need all the help we can get to keep up the fight.
Will you become a member today by donating a few pounds a month and help power the campaign to win a new law on assisted dying?
Thank you so much for your support,
