Here is today's KCDC ADA Information Network message. Please feel free to share with others.? Martha Martha K. Gabehart | Executive Director [email protected] | www.kcdcinfo.ks.gov ___________________________________________________________________________________________ February 8, 2023 U.S. Access Board Webinar: Accessible Parking and Passenger Loading Zones People with mobility disabilities often have no problem driving to various buildings and facilities for employment, services, education, amenities, and social gatherings. However, to access those sites, available parking must meet both the scoping and technical requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) Accessibility Standards. The next webinar in the U.S. Access Board's free monthly series will take place March 2 from 2:30 ? 4:00 (ET) and address accessibility requirements for parking spaces, van spaces, vertical clearances, access aisles, marking and signage, ground clearances, and valet parking, as well as accessible passenger loading zones. Access Board Accessibility Specialists will also review recommendations for the design and construction of accessible electric vehicle (EV) charging stations located on both government and private entities. Visit Great Lakes ADA Center?s Accessible Parking and Passenger Loading Zones webinar webpage for more information or to register. All webinars include video remote interpreting (VRI) and real-time captioning. Questions can be submitted in advance of the session or can be posed during the live webinar. Webinar attendees can earn continuing education credits. The webinar series is hosted by the ADA National Network in cooperation with the Board. Archived copies of previous Board webinars are available on the site. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ February 9, 2023 U.S. Access Board Meeting on March 15 All are welcome to attend the public session of the next meeting of the U.S. Access Board, which will be open to the public and take place on March 15 from 1:00 ? 2:30 p.m. (ET).
