Hi John, I’m Towqir, Nida’s husband.
I am so proud of my wife!
Not only did she become the first Muslim woman elected to public office in North Carolina, but she ran a strong, progressive campaign for Congress powered by the best grassroots supporters.
Now she’s using her platform to support young, progressive candidates that are striving to create a brighter future for working families – building the progressive power all across the South and right here in North Carolina.
I’m going to be honest with you, John, writing to strangers is very new to me. But right now, we have a unique chance to uplift progressive candidates early in the new cycle, and Nida needs our support to build that movement. Nida has always been very open and honest about her infertility struggles, sharing her story about the abortion that saved her life – and being vulnerable in front of so many people takes a lot of strength.
My wife has used her journey to become a stronger advocate for progressive values such as comprehensive reproductive rights, because every family deserves the right to make their own choices.
Nida is a compassionate leader, an amazing mother to our daughter, Aaliyah, and a loving wife. She inspires me everyday and I’ll always stand by her as she strives to create a better future for our family and yours.
