The Hill: LGBTQ groups say Biden missed chance to denounce attacks in State of the Union

John:
LGBTQ+ groups are applauding Biden for vowing to protect the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans during his State of the Union speech — but think he “missed an opportunity” to condemn the record-breaking attacks on LGBTQ+ folks.
We have some opinions, but we want to hear from you. What do you think, John?
2023 is on track to be the worst year ever for anti-LGBTQ+ policy, John. In the last two months, over 300 hateful bills have been introduced in statehouses across the country.
But despite the “tidal wave” of bigoted legislation, President Biden did not take his chance to denounce Republicans’ targeting of the LGBTQ+ community during his State of the Union speech.
While Biden touted his support of the Respect for Marriage and Equality acts, LGBTQ+ activists think the President should have gone even further.
“POTUS only mentioned marriage equality but not legislative attacks to LGBTQ+ rights…Was Biden's speech enough? - National LGBTQ+ Task Force
Republicans show no sign of abandoning their anti-LGBTQ+ crusade, so we want to know:
John, do you think President Biden should have denounced anti-LGBTQ+ legislation during his State of the Union address? Please, share your thoughts below:
Thank you,
