Polluters often target communities of color, unfairly burdening families
with toxic water, air, and soil. I visited Southeast LA cities to listen
to and speak with local leaders about the urgent need to stick up for
these communities and hold special interests accountable.

Black, Latino and other communities of color have been targeted by big
polluters because they’ve been blocked from having political power. Let's
call it what it is: environmental racism.
Parts of LA County have some of the worst air pollution in the country.
Parks, schools, and homes have toxic metal embedded in their soil.
Freeways were built and industrial sites were chosen because corporations
thought residents wouldn’t be able to oppose them.
Corporations target these communities, and then the same corporations
block any attempt by Washington to hold them accountable. With a single
call to Joe Manchin or any number of Big Oil funded politicians, the
fossil fuel industry has successfully watered down environmental
   legislation.
I’ve spent my career standing up to special interests deemed too powerful
to take on—and delivering for Californians. Unlike other candidates in
this race, I’ve never taken corporate PAC money. I can’t be bought, and in
the Senate I’ll fight to pass the Green New Deal, adequately fund the EPA,
and pass environmental legislation that doesn’t leave any community
   behind.
I’m proud to be running a truly people-powered campaign, which means I can
only continue meeting with people from every part of the state with your
support. [ [link removed] ]Consider making a $15 donation today to help power the fight
