Friend,
Years ago, this country made a strategic mistake for which we’re still
paying the price.
Harmful trade deals and catastrophic economic policies brought American
manufacturing to a screeching halt. As a result, 70,000 factories closed
up here at home. Once-vibrant towns became shells of their former selves,
and countless people lost faith in the American dream.
That’s why Senator Marco Rubio and I have reached across the aisle to
introduce the [ [link removed] ]National Development and Coordination Act. Although the
senator and I differ on many issues, there's something critical we both
agree on: the need for the government to help revitalize domestic
production.

Our bipartisan act would authorize $20 billion over 10 years to restore
the U.S. to its rightful place as a manufacturing superpower. It would
provide well-paying jobs to uplift working-class Americans by reviving
industries such as steel, aluminum, textiles, and auto parts.
A key component of this legislation is the creation of an Economic
Development Council that will identify communities that need economic
revitalization. The Council’s goal is to work with the private sector to
partner directly with these communities to foster a new economic
patriotism centered on rebuilding the American workforce.
I firmly believe that we can revitalize American industry. But to do that,
I need your help. [ [link removed] ]Will you donate $3 or more today in support of our
bipartisan efforts?
With the new Congress in session, collaboration between our two parties is
necessary if we’re going to accomplish meaningful work for the American
people. And, right now, few things are as meaningful as getting domestic
industry back on track.
In solidarity,
Ro
