Youngkin started by trying to reverse policies that gave trans students easy access to gender-neutral bathrooms and ensured they were called by their preferred names and pronouns.
Now, his allies in the legislature are trying to pass a bill that cruelly singles out trans girls in sports and makes them needless political targets in the GOP's ongoing "culture war" effort to stir up their base.
This has to stop. Instead of attacking schools' curricula and demanding that they stigmatize trans students, politicians in Richmond should be protecting people's rights and making lives easier.
I'm running for office to help put an end to this offensive insanity. I believe that everyone deserves love and acceptance, and I'll stand strong against anyone who throws vulnerable people under the bus just to score cheap political points.
P.S. If you have a few minutes, please watch this excerpt of my former House of Delegates colleague Danica Roem's powerful speech against the GOP's trans sports ban.
