John, there are a lot of things going on in the news right now,
but we have to remain focused on issues that really impact everyday,
hardworking Americans.

The Republicans have made it clear that they still are looking to target
Social Security and Medicare, and Rick Scott seems to be the ultimate
cheerleader behind that idea. In a proposal sent out by him last year, he
suggested that any federal spending worth keeping would simply be
refunded, even with the threat of sunsetting these programs after a
five-year period. However, many Republican legislators have been on record
in the last ten years hinting at the "moving target" of Medicare and
Social Security. More recently, the Republican Study Committee suggested
raising the age of eligibility for Social Security and privatization of
Medicare.
All of this is on the record, but Republicans have the gall to call
President Biden a "liar." Falsehoods, to them, only occur when a Democrat
is calling them out on their poor policy choices.
That being said, we still have work to do to get this message out. We
still have to push back and make sure that the GOP knows to keep their
cuts away from the benefits that we put decades of work into receiving.
[ [link removed] ]John, will you chip in today and help us fight the GOP on
this?

John, we cannot do this important work without your support.
Every American deserves to know if their representatives, and those they
trust with their votes, are the ones that will make their lives more
difficult. Thank you for sticking in this fight with us.
