John,
Galentine's Day only comes once a year, and we know just the way to celebrate! While chocolate, fancy dinners, and bottomless mimosas are nice, we've got something
waaay better:
You and your bestie in political office.
Next month, on March 7 at 8 p.m. ET Run for Something is hosting See Yourself Running for all progressive self-identifying women of color considering a bid for elected office.
Bring your Galentine and learn from an all-star panel about the ins and outs of what it's like to run for office. No matter your experience, if you're a young, progressive woman of color with ambition, we want you there!
Every woman who's ever run for office was once in your shoes, likely full of questions and uncertainties — but you don't have to go it alone. Run for Something hosts events like these to be a support network and help overcome those doubts that stop many women of color from running in the first place.
Being encouraged to run is especially important for women of color: Cultural conditioning, systemic barriers, and the fact that women are asked far less often than men to run in the first place have led to massive disparities in representation.
Women make up 51% of the population, but only 24% of Congress, 28% of state-wide executive seats, and 29% of state legislatures. Those numbers go down for Black women and women of color.
Run for Something is here to turn that paradigm around. When more Black and Brown women run, more win.
Grab all the progressive women of color in your life and join us for See Yourself Running: Women of Color on March 7 at 8 p.m. ET. This is a FREE event you won't want to miss!
Happy Galentine's Day!
