Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The end of last week marked the conclusion of week six of the 2023 legislative session. Floor session last week consisted mostly of confirmations of several of the lower profile Executive Branch Commissioners.

Sen. Lucero participating in a press conference Thursday last week at the MN Capitol highlighting the hypocrisy of the new energy mandates recently passed and signed into law by Democrats.

The Democrat law is going to cost Minnesotans billions in new electricity costs and will result in blackouts because solar panels and windmills will not power MN in the coldest days of winter.

CORPORATE MEDIA

Corporate media in Minnesota mostly sat silent the last six weeks since session began as Democrats have been breaking both House and Senate rules ramming the most extreme bills through the legislature. The failure of corporate media to do their job is not shocking, however, because most of corporate media in Minnesota is flaming liberal. This reality has allowed the extreme Democrat bills to largely fly under the radar with little to zero scrutiny when there was still an opportunity to amend the Democrat proposals during debate.

This past weekend, the StarTribune reported on the massive expense and challenges of the Democrats’ disastrous, new energy mandates. The reporting was “conveniently” performed AFTER Gov. Walz already signed the bill into law and too late to change. Corporate media’s Johnny-come-lately failure is such a disservice to all of Minnesota. The intellectual dishonesty of corporate media in Minnesota has no boundaries.

Despite the above, I’m among the Republicans who will continue working hard to offer reasonable, common sense amendments and to advocate for the values and priorities of the 49% of Minnesotans who did not support the current, extremist, senate Democrat majority. I fully subscribe to the words of wisdom from Winston Churchill, “never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty — never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense.”

MORE EXTREME BILLS COMING SOON

Democrats aren’t stopping at extreme abortion or dangerous energy mandate legislation already passed into law. Some of the additional Democrat bills working their way through committees and expected to be on the Senate Floor soon include:

·         Gun control (to further punish law abiding gun owners)

·         Felon voting (including voting locations in prisons)

·         Mandatory menstrual products in the boys bathrooms of all public schools

·         Socializing school lunches for all

·         Eroding conscientious objection and parental authority over their children’s vaccinations

·         Issuing drivers licenses to illegal immigrants

·         Automatic voter registration for all with drivers licenses (including illegal immigrants)

·         NPV (to erode the Electoral College constitutional check-and-balance)
