Hi John,

We are going through a profound shift in our politics.

We are waking up from the neoliberal stranglehold that has decimated the working class and thrown us into one endless war after another.

I believe the history books will look back at 2020 as the year things started to change.

Will you help build that change by donating $27 right now?

In the future, we’ll look back and see: we went through the hell of a Donald Trump presidency — babies stolen from mothers, emboldening white supremacists, the Muslim ban, conflict with Iran — and we came out on the other side. We voted in a progressive president and Congress who were ready to create the profound structural change we needed.

I’m not saying things will change overnight — things were deeply wrong long before Trump came to power. I’m not even saying this future is guaranteed. We’ll have to work very hard to achieve it.

But if we do, then — at last — we’ll have a government that’s willing to work for the people, not corporations and plutocrats.

I’m one piece of this broad, progressive movement. Across the country, candidates like me are working as hard as we possibly can to win against a corporate-funded political machine that doesn’t want us to win.

Yes, the forces of fascism are sweeping the globe.

But so too are the forces of hope. A new leftist governing coalition was just formed in Spain. The youngest prime minister in Finnish history, a social democrat, recently came into power because of a labor strike. The Denver city council, including a DSA member, recently nixed contracts with companies that run ICE facilities.

We are in a battle between light and dark. I believe light will win.

Will you join me?

Solidarity forever,

-Rebecca
