When folks ask me if I think Democrats can win in North Carolina in 2024, I tell them this: North Carolina is the epitome of a “purple” state.

We have 7 Democratic representatives to the U.S. House, and 7 Republican representatives. In 2020, Donald Trump’s narrowest victory came here. He won North Carolina by just 1.3 points. I won my gubernatorial elections in the same years that Trump carried the state.

Democrats CAN win here — if we have the resources that allow us to compete.

The right-wing state Supreme Court is set to reopen cases that could reinstate anti-voter legislation and Republicans’ gerrymandered legislative district maps. That would effectively throw elections to the GOP no matter what our voters want! It’s a threat to our democracy itself — and I’m ready to fight back.
