Did you see All On The Line’s message from last week? This is a critical moment for our fair maps movement, John and I hope you’re ready to step up.

We know there will be redraws happening across the country, and with all our progress in our fight against gerrymandering, this act of political favoritism must be checked.

Sign our petition if you condemn this action and believe the courts should remain independent and protect the rights of voters as the state constitution requires. [[link removed]]

A.G. Holder made the agenda of the extremist conservative legislators who are bringing the case clear. They are okay with getting fewer votes as long as they hold onto their power.

John -- That is a huge red flag.

Will you add your name to our petition if you support protecting the rights of voters as the state constitution requires? [[link removed]]

Thank you for your support,

Subject: The North Carolina Supreme Court is taking action… and it isn’t good.

Team -- North Carolina Supreme Court decisions in Harper v. Hall in 2022 were monumental in our fight against gerrymandering and for protecting North Carolinians’ ability to exercise their right to be heard.

But last week, newly sworn-in justices on North Carolina’s Supreme Court showed their extremist views by agreeing to reconsider the Harper v. Hall ruling that struck down the legislature’s gerrymandered state senate map.

‘’This is not a function of legal principle -- it is an indication of political opportunism.’’
-- A.G. Eric Holder

HELP US ADVOCATE FOR FAIR MAPS [[link removed]]

Our affiliate, the National Redistricting Foundation (NRF), has been in North Carolina fighting gerrymandered maps for the past five years. And amidst this attempt to politicize the state’s judicial branch, the NRF remains steadfast in its support of the plaintiffs in Harper v. Hall , who are standing tall against gerrymandering.

So, what’s changed?

Let’s be clear. Nothing in state law has changed. But Republican legislative leadership filed their petition to undermine the state’s system of checks and balances , under their belief that new justices on the state supreme court would side with them simply because they have the same party affiliation.

We can’t stress enough that the fair maps movement is about putting people over politics. And we won’t stand for lawmakers continuing to damage our democratic infrastructure that safeguards people’s rights.

We need your help. All On The Line is committed to advocating for fair maps in North Carolina and across the county. Will you make a donation to support our fight to end gerrymandering? [[link removed]]

Your donation helps All On The Line’s work to stop these anti-democratic threats pushed by extremist lawmakers for political opportunity.
