We just got the word, team.
The “Texas Alliance for Life,” an anti-abortion activist organization, has issued a lawsuit in the state Supreme Court over our San Antonio Justice Charter.
The San Antonio Justice Charter includes the first abortion rights initiative in Texas since Roe was struck down. It would help ensure taxpayer dollars aren’t used by police to enforce “abortion crimes” under Texas’s extreme abortion ban. It’s part of a comprehensive justice policy initiative to reform policing and improve public safety.
Our opponents are extremely well-funded and are trying to silence the voices of Texans who want to protect abortion rights. That’s why we need you to have our backs. Can you chip in $30 to help us defend our initiative against anti-abortion attacks?
Team, when we launched the Justice Charter, we knew that we’d face challenges. Well-funded right-wing groups are hell bent on banning all abortions in Texas—and are using their resources to target initiatives like this that help prevent the criminalization of abortion care.
But we have the power of VOTERS.
We collected nearly 40,000 signatures from everyday voters who don’t want to see their taxpayer dollars spent enforcing “abortion crimes” in their communities. We successfully placed this initiative on the ballot so voters can make their voices heard—but now we need your help to ensure those voices aren’t silenced.
Thank you,
