Everyone should get the chance to build their financial future, not just the few who have been born into wealth – and we have a big opportunity to advance this vision in the coming weeks!
If you want to help move forward a policy that could be a key ingredient in closing the racial wealth divide, please sign your organization up to support Baby Bonds.
Within the next few weeks, Senator Cory Booker and Representative Ayanna Pressley will reintroduce the American Opportunity Accounts Act, which would provide every child, at birth, with the economic resources needed to begin building long-term economic security and generational wealth.
The American Opportunity Accounts Act would not only ensure that all children—regardless of their family’s economic circumstances—have the resources they need to succeed when they become adults, but also would substantially close the racial wealth gap facing Black and Latinx families. In advance of reintroducing the legislation, the offices of Sen. Booker and Rep. Pressley are seeking organizational endorsements to accompany the formal bill announcement.
The deadline to sign on as an endorser of the legislation is Monday, February 13, 2023.
