Green American, tell Amazon to stop union busting and start bargaining

Ever since Amazon workers at the fulfillment center on Staten Island formed the first-ever union at an Amazon facility in the USA, Amazon has ramped up union-busting at other warehouses and refused to even come to the table and negotiate with the union.

The workers’ demands are simple: better pay, better benefits, and better working conditions. Amazon warehouse workers suffer serious injuries at twice the rate of competitor companies. In a recent historic move, OSHA investigators issued citations and penalties at six Amazon facilities. "Amazon's operating methods are creating hazardous work conditions and processes, leading to serious workers injuries," explained Assistant Secretary of Occupational Safety and Health, Doug Parker. Amazon warehouse worker Poushawn Brown allegedly died after Amazon forced her to conduct Covid tests without providing any PPE.

Amazon is one of the most profitable companies in the world -- and its profits soared during the pandemic. But instead of using its wealth to protect the workers who kept it running, Amazon treated the human beings who make it run as disposable.

Green America has teamed up with our allies to demand that Amazon start bargaining.

In solidarity,
