My friend,
In January, I was officially sworn in to my second term as Colorado Secretary of State. It is an honor serving Colorado for another four years, and I am proud to have such strong support from Coloradans!
People like me usually don’t serve in statewide office. As a child, my family relied on food stamps from time to time, and I grew up in rural Colorado in a cabin with an outhouse out back. As Secretary of State, I work to ensure that Coloradans who grew up like me have equal access to Colorado’s elections.
To thank Coloradans for their support and celebrate our historic win, we held inaugural events in Denver, Boulder, Montrose, Grand Junction, Durango, Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, and the Vail Valley.
Last year, I helped lead the national fight against election deniers and helped defeat election denier candidates for secretary of state in battleground states, including Michigan, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Minnesota. Thankfully, American voters chose democracy in the midterms, but as a nation, we are not yet out of the woods. Extremism and election denialism are still threatening our fundamental freedoms. I am proud to announce that I was re-elected to serve as Chair of the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State, where I will continue to protect our democracy and fundamental freedoms alongside pro-democracy Secretaries of State.
There’s so much more to accomplish during this next term. Colorado’s elections are the gold standard, and my office will keep working to protect our elections. We’ll also help small businesses and fight for hard-working Coloradans.
Follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stay up-to-date on my work.
Thank you for your support.
Best,
Jena Griswold
Colorado Secretary of State
