But this is about more than just one day a year. This is about doing what’s right every single day and our responsibility to always do what’s right. Throughout my entire adult life, I’ve tried to do what’s right and live by example. As a nurse, as a mother, as a pastor, and as an activist, my life has been about service - a concept Dr. King exemplified.
I’m running for Congress because the responsibility of service to others is one that our status quo Congresspeople have dismissed. They’ve grown out of touch with why they’re in office - to serve. We need Congresspeople who have walked the walk, not people who just talk the talk. The time for talk is over - it’s time to act. It’s time to fight for everyday people and fight to protect their rights, their liberties, and their dignity.
The time is always right to do what’s right. That’s the living proof of Dr. King’s legacy - a legacy we are honored to uphold and dedicated to preserving. Dr. King taught us to lead by example and through service, and those lessons are pillars of our campaign.
Serve, act, and fight. We’re here to do all three. Will you stand with us?
In solidarity,
Cori
