Last week, Republican Senator Martha McSally was ambushed by CNN's reporter, Manu Raju, who wanted to corner her into attacking President Trump - as she faces a tough re-election battle.
Senator McSally was having none of it - and told Raju to go away as he was a partisan liberal hack. As Raju pressed her again, McSally stood her ground and repeated "you're just a liberal hack."
Since then CNN and other media outlets have expressed outrage and demanded that McSally apologize, but McSally is undaunted - saying she won't be intimidated by media pressure:
Arizona is one of our highest priority states (as you know we've had teams working on the ground in 'The Grand Canyon State' for several weeks now). We have overlapping races of importance including the presidential race, congressional races - and we are determined to win this U.S. Senate race.
