If you know the story of how I decided to run for office, you know why campaign finance reform matters so much to me. I went to DC to advocate for opening ground combat roles to women, and it was way harder than it should have been to get my representative to hear me out -- he could make time for lobbyist lunches but not to hear me explain my point of view as a combat veteran.

-- The dark money-fueled Koch network just announced Texas is one of their top 5 Senate targets in its biggest election-year push ever. Their DC super PAC already has already spent $66,000 to prop up Sen. Cornyn!

-- And a shady pro-Cornyn dark money group has spent over $2 million on TV ads in Texas, including ads thanking Sen. Cornyn for standing with them against legislation to lower health care costs.

-- Senator Cornyn's super PAC raised more than $1 million since July, with almost all of the money coming from one mega-donor.


Senator Cornyn has taken millions from corporate PACs and special interests, from Big Pharma to the gun lobby, and then followed their lead to kill bills that could make prescription drugs more affordable and protect our children from gun violence. That's because he cares more about helping his donors than fighting for Texans like you and me.
