Picture this: a baby sea turtle pokes through its eggshell. But scooting over
the sand, OIL COATS ITS TINY BODY. The water isn’t any safer. This is what it looks like when offshore drilling operations spill,
contaminating water for local communities, exacerbating public health crises,
and dooming this poor baby sea turtle. Act now!

Offshore pipeline leak rates are 10x HIGHER in the Gulf than the national rate. And oil spill fumes can cause respiratory problems and pneumonia for people living
nearby. Yet the Department of Interior continues to lease federal waters for offshore
drilling WITHOUT properly accounting for the costs. Friend, help PROTECT our climate, communities, and
wildlife: DEMAND the DOI account for ALL IMPACTS of offshore drilling in new
leases!

[[link removed]]Big Oil has a long history of extracting the Gulf’s resources while making empty
promises that communities will see wealth and opportunity in exchange. Instead, Big Oil has treated the Gulf as a sacrificial zone, bringing poisoned air,
water, and the looming threat of oil spills.
The Department of Interior must factor the cost to our climate and the planet
into its lease sales. Instead, it’s allowing Big Oil to lease our oceans at a
steal -- without having to pay for the external harms it causes. If the DOI doesn’t hear from enough people, the health of Gulf communities,
marine habitats, and endangered sea turtles are at continued risk. Friend, help prioritize Gulf communities and wildlife
over Big Oil profits by 11:59pm TONIGHT!
