It was great to meet with Sub-Zero and the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers this week to discuss protecting gas stoves in American families’ homes from the Biden Administration’s attempt to ban gas stoves.

Lesko Denounces President Biden’s Cancellation of Keystone XL Pipeline

This week, I introduced a resolution to disapprove of President Biden’s decision to cancel the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline. I introduced this bill in a joint hearing of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittees on Energy, Climate, and Grid Security and Environment, Manufacturing, and Critical Materials. On day one, President Biden cancelled the Keystone XL pipeline, which did little to reduce emissions and was an insult to Canada, one of our most important allies. Many of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle have said that they disapprove of the president’s decision to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline, and I was proud to sponsor this resolution to give Congress the opportunity to denounce this irresponsible move. Lesko Reacts to the State of the Union

This week, President Joseph R. Biden delivered his State of the Union Address, yet the State of the Union is still in crisis. Arizonans are facing a cost of living crisis, a record-breaking border crisis, and sky-high gas prices. Deadly drugs, including fentanyl, are being trafficked across our southern border and taking the lives of people in our communities. Our nation is facing a growing number of national security threats around the globe. Many of these crises have only gotten worse under the Biden Administration’s failed tenure. In his last State of the Union, President Biden promised to secure the border, yet the border is wide open with historic numbers of illegal migrant crossings. It is time for President Biden to put aside partisanship and work with House Republicans to restore safety, freedom, and prosperity to Arizonans and Americans across our nation.

Lesko Reintroduces Legislation to Save Unborn Babies’ Lives

I reintroduced the Dismemberment Abortion Ban Act to prohibit dismemberment abortions and allow a woman who undergoes a dismemberment abortion to file a civil action against the person who knowingly performs the procedure. I was proud to introduce this important legislation to save the lives of unborn babies and protect them from the gruesome and violent practice of dismemberment abortion. In the wake of the 50^th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, and as we celebrate the U.S. Supreme Court overturning this terrible decision, we must continue to defend the right to life for the most defenseless among us, the unborn.

Lesko Reintroduces Legislation to Address Border Crisis

I reintroduced the Border Crisis Prevention Act to address many factors contributing to our nation’s border crisis, including problems with our asylum system, a lack of immigration judges, and barriers to detention. Since day one, President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas have worked to open our southern border and have created the worst border crisis on record. For border states like Arizona, this crisis has become an unmitigated humanitarian crisis as well as a threat to the safety of our communities. I was pleased to reintroduce this important legislation to address the border crisis, fix our broken immigration system, and work to restore our nation’s border security.

Lesko Stands Up for Women; Reintroduces Women’s Bill of Rights

I also reintroduced the Women’s Bill of Rights to affirm the importance of acknowledging women and their unique and distinguishing characteristics and recognize their contributions to our nation. Protecting women’s rights should not be a partisan issue, yet the left cannot even define the word 'woman.' I was proud to once again introduce this important legislation to affirm the basic biological truth that men and women are different and safeguard the rights of women in our laws.

GET THE FACTS: Debunking President Biden's State of the Union Myths

On Tuesday, President Biden claimed that the state of our union is strong, but Americans know this couldn't be further from the truth. President Biden bragged about reducing the nation's deficit by $1.4 trillion, while in reality, his reckless spending policies have created the largest two-year deficit in U.S. history at $4.2 trillion. President Biden tried to take credit for creating 12 million new jobs, yet he is counting jobs that were already created and temporarily put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. President Biden claimed he was working to secure the southern border, yet we have seen record-breaking numbers of illegal border crossings and illicit drugs cross our southern border. President Biden also lied when he said Republicans wanted to cut Social Security and Medicare. The first piece of legislation I introduced this Congress was a resolution to protect Social Security and Medicare and strengthen them for future generations. He also falsely claimed to be standing up to Communist China, just days after he allowed a Chinese surveillance balloon to fly over the United States. He also failed to mention his administration's botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. Simply put, President Biden's domestic and foreign policies are utter failures, and the American people know it. House Republicans, however, are stepping up to the plate. We have passed legislation in the U.S. House to reverse these terrible policies. We are committed to restoring freedom and safety to America while this administration continues to put America last.

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office after he was unable to close out the estate for his recently deceased aunt and receive her final tax refund. Our casework team contacted the Internal Revenue Service and provided them with the necessary documentation, which allowed for the final refund to be released, and the constituent received his payment.
