Friends, today we remember the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and honor his fight for justice and equality for all.
I know the headlines out of Washington can sometimes make us feel like we’re further than ever from achieving Dr. King’s dream of a nation and a world equal for all.
I’m here to tell you that’s not true. Every day in Washington and across the country, Americans are taking a stand for civil rights and fighting for justice for everyone.
That’s why I’m proud to join in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Marade this year, a celebration that combines a solidarity march with a celebratory parade to honor Dr. King’s legacy.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Annual Colorado Marade, 2020
This event is an important reminder that
we are still fighting to deliver on Dr. King’s dream for every American.
Remember, as Dr. King told us: “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”
Thank you for pausing with me today to reflect on his work and honor his memory.
