John, as of the composing of this email, over 22,000 people have been killed as a result of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Monday. Tens of thousands have been reported as injured as well. 

Not only is the tragedy of the loss of life and injuries heavy on the minds of the countries affected, but they also face the risk of a secondary emergency - as thousands are now homeless in the midst of a bitter winter. The healthcare system is at a breaking point, as medical services and supplies are limited. Families have been torn apart, and some have been completely erased in the wake of this catastrophe. 

In this desperate time of need, we would ask that you consider looking into some of the many organizations that are seeking aid and funding as they try to help the victims of this disaster:
