During President Biden’s State of the Union address earlier this week, many in Washington proclaimed that they were “shocked” that Kevin McCarthy failed to stop members of the GOP caucus from screaming, heckling the president, and generally embarrassing themselves and their party.

I, for one, was anything but shocked.

If you're going to vote for a guy like McCarthy who's willing to put on a dog collar and be led around, you better be clear on who's holding the leash.

McCarthy knows exactly who’s running the show. That’s why he immediately sold his soul to the fringe MAGA wing to gain the Speakership. It’s why those same fringe extremists openly belittle and defy him on a daily basis.

Here’s the truth: No matter what he claims, if Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz want to defund Social Security and Medicare, promote the Big Lie, and wage culture wars from the floor of the House, Kevin McCarthy will faithfully follow along.

Our country deserves trustworthy leadership. That’s why we’re already laying the foundations to win our majority back in 2024, and I’m counting on your support to do it. Will you pitch in $25?
