Team,
I wanted to ensure you saw this incredible news for our veterans:

Thanks to a new policy at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), any veteran suffering a mental health crisis can now go to the nearest hospital to receive free emergency services – regardless of whether they are enrolled in the VA health care system or not.
This is long overdue, team. Prior to this rule, veterans needed to go to a VA facility in order to receive free or low cost mental health care. Some veterans were forced to travel dozens or even hundreds of miles from home while experiencing an emergency just to receive care. By eliminating unnecessary barriers to care, this policy change will undoubtedly save lives.
Our veterans deserve free emergency mental health care wherever they are. That’s why I’ve always supported proposals like this in Congress to make care more accessible for our vets. This rule is a great step in that direction, but we’ve still got a lot more work to do. Will you please consider making a donation to my campaign so I can keep fighting to ensure all our brave former service members have access to the care that they need? [[link removed]]

Making the decision to put your life on the line for our country is one of the bravest and most noble things an American can do, and it’s important we take care of all those who choose to serve. That’s why I’ve been a part of dozens of legislative efforts to deliver benefits to our veterans during my time in Congress, including the passage of the historic PACT Act , which finally strengthened the VA’s ability to provide care and resources to veterans who have been exposed to burn pits and other toxic chemicals.
We’ve made great strides for our vets, but I’m a firm believer in working until all of them have what they need to live happy and healthy lives. Can you contribute to my re-election campaign so I can keep fighting for our veterans in Congress, friend? [[link removed]]
