Friend,
I’ve had the privilege of working with some remarkable colleagues throughout my time in the House of Representatives -- but one of the greatest honors of my life has been serving with Congressman John Lewis, who carried the torch of the Civil Rights movement and who has taught me countless lessons about what it means to fight for your fellow man.
This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I’m reminded of how much more we all have to learn.
We have a President who gleefully stokes division in our country, who fans the flames of bigotry and hatred, and whose policies have led to greater injustice and inequality. But we must continue to resist, and we must never give up on the promise of a more peaceful, more tolerant nation for which Dr. King gave his life. Because together, we can fulfill that promise.
Best,
Ted
