My name is Cindy Mundell, a proud supporter of Lauren and her work in Congress. I was honored to be her guest at President Biden’s State of the Union Address Tuesday night and I’m reaching out to share my experience at the Capitol with you.

It was thrilling to be among the crowd listening to the president share our long list of accomplishments and his vision for the future of our country. His message was clear: “Let’s finish the job.”

We’ve come so far in the last few years delivering transformational legislation for the American people — but the work is far from over.

President Biden’s message resonated with me deeply. I’m from Naperville, Illinois where I served as a step-down cardiac intensive-care nurse for more than 36 years. That’s 36-plus years I spent working and earning my retirement just like millions of other Americans across the country. While some politicians are threatening to take away our hard-earned benefits, Lauren and her Democratic colleagues are working to defend them.

It’s hard working folks like you and me that Lauren, a fellow nurse, represents and fights for in the halls of Congress. She’s not afraid to stand up to extreme Republicans in the name of safeguarding the Illinois and American values we hold so dear. That’s why I’ve been rallying behind her every step of the way since she was first elected in 2018.

But Lauren cannot and does not do it alone. Grassroots supporters power her efforts to continue making the progress working families are counting on.

John, let’s come together, stand with Lauren and fight for a brighter future for our country.
