Hi there Friend, During this week’s State of the Union address, President Joe Biden reminded Americans that climate action can’t wait. “The climate crisis doesn’t care if your state is red or blue. It is an existential threat,” Biden said. “We have an obligation to our children and grandchildren to confront it.” But it’s not just future generations that are harmed by pollution. The cost of inaction is real. And marginalized communities are already paying for it with their health. President Biden and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently took a critical step toward cutting methane and other harmful pollutants from the oil and gas industry – but there is more work to be done to ensure that the EPA finalizes the strongest possible methane safeguards to protect public health. That’s where you come in, friend. If you are concerned about the impacts of methane pollution, please submit your comment to the EPA by February 13. Not sure what to say? Check out these key points from our friends at the Climate Action Campaign:
During the State of the Union address, President Biden promised: “We will finish the job.” Now it’s up to us to hold him to his word and remind the administration how important clean air is to our communities. Submit your comment on methane and encourage President Biden to release all administrative rules to address toxic power plant pollution for public comment by signing this petition today. P.S.
