Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) is a liar.

Hawley recently introduced the so-called “Keep Our Promises Act”, claiming that it would protect Social Security and Medicare if Hawley and his Republican colleagues crash the global economy by refusing to raise the debt limit. But according to economic experts, the bill would do absolutely nothing to protect our earned benefits.

Hawley likes to say nice words about Social Security and Medicare, but those words are just as phony as his fake bill. Last year, Hawley enthusiastically endorsed Blake Masters for Senate — a candidate who once casually mused “Maybe we should privatize Social Security”. And Hawley reportedly supported making Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), the man with the plan to “sunset” Social Security and Medicare in 5 years, the Senate Majority Leader.

Fortunately, Missouri voters have the chance to send Hawley and his lies packing in 2024. And he’s already got a progressive challenger.
