Dear Friends,
The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) is following the critical situation in Turkey and Syria closely. The images coming from the areas affected by the earthquakes have touched our hearts and we are keeping the victims in our thoughts.
With more than 20,000 fatalities and dire weather conditions, the aftermath of the earthquake calls on us to do whatever we can to support the relief efforts.
We would like to encourage all our supporters, including donors and volunteers, who have always been beyond generous with us to contribute to the relief efforts in Turkey and Syria.
This area had already been hit by a humanitarian crisis as a result of the war in Syria, which has displaced thousands of people who have been forced to live in refugee camps along the Turkish-Syrian border.
It is in circumstances like this one where humanity must come together to alleviate the suffering of others.
Every dollar of every donation made to USCRI will go directly to the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) for the benefit of refugees and Internally displaced people (IDPs) in Syria and Turkey.
Our heart goes to the victims and their families, including the refugees and immigrants who are waiting to hear back from their loved ones and hoping to help in every way possible.
With warm regards,
Eskinder Negash
USCRI President and CEO
