There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe nor politic nor popular, but he must take it because his conscience tells him it is right.

- Martin Luther King Jr.
---
John- we’re all grateful for this holiday, but sometimes I think we don’t fully realize the gravity behind it. Martin Luther King Jr. was a once-in-a-generation kind of person. He went to the mountaintop and he moved mountains in the work for racial justice and equity. He believed in two simple and yet incredibly powerful things: that every person must stand up for what’s right and that love will always beat hate. While his life was tragically taken from us, we must work to ensure his ideals continue to live on.

As we reflect and honor his legacy today, I hope you’ll take a moment to think about what you can individually do throughout the year to live by Dr. King’s words. In this current political climate, we need the spirit of his courage, compassion, and commitment to truth more than ever.

May we each stand up for what’s right and answer hate with love and service.

-Colin
