PLANNED PARENTHOOD
Hi, I want to share a key way you can help protect and expand sexual or reproductive health care — it's simple and you maybe haven't thought of it.

Telling your story is powerful. It's a way to cut through the noise and show the simple truth: Our stories matter, our experiences are important, and our lives and bodies belong to us. Your experience of getting sexual or reproductive health care inspires others, spreads knowledge, and shows others they are not alone.

Share your story and make a difference today.

I've seen first hand the power of just one person's story in building momentum in the movement.

We recently held a summit on patient advocacy that brought together hundreds of advocates, partners, and staff to refine the skills needed to build a patient-centered movement for reproductive freedom.

The "people power" in the room was inspiring. I heard stories from folks from Florida to Hawaii about getting birth control, gender-affirming care, STI testing, and other services. We spoke about how they will use their stories to bring others to action and I left feeling hopeful about what we can accomplish.

Here's one story from a former patient, Shawanna, that really moved me:
At 17, I became pregnant. I decided to terminate the pregnancy because it was the best option for me at the time. I got to finish high school, and I became a certified nurse assistant. I decided to apply to work at Planned Parenthood, because going there as a patient made me want to help other women the way they helped me. And I ended up working there for four and a half years. It's important that abortion remain safe and legal for women.

We know getting personal and opening up can be intimidating, but that's exactly where our power comes from. Strengthen our movement by telling your story.

Thank you for sharing your story.
