Fawcett’s 2020 Sex & Power Index launched this week. We found zero women of colour in CEO roles in the FTSE 100.
Not a single one. Plus: no women of colour in the Scottish Parliament, National Assembly for Wales or the Northern Ireland Assembly. Every sector is male dominated.
This report was funded by our members, thanks to their support we were able to hold companies, parliament and institutions to account.
We're pleased to announce that we will be partnering with leading race equality think tank, The Runnymede Trust, to challenge the pay & progression of women of colour in the UK.
Together, we’ll be working with affected women to understand the inequalities and barriers to progression, and the solutions needed to overcome them.
And, through our Equal Pay 2020 campaign, we are urging the government to introduce gender pay gap reporting by ethnicity so that employers can be called out for discrimination and take action to advance women of colour in their workforces.
Support our work by becoming a Fawcett member. The first 30 people to sign up this week will receive a free copy of one of the following books by leading black women writers*.
