I wanted to make sure you got my email about a program that has been the
MVP in the fight against HIV/AIDS: the US President’s Emergency Plan for
AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). 

Since it started 20 years ago, PEPFAR has helped to save 25 million lives.
Congress must reauthorize PEPFAR this year, and it’s a big part of our
2023 gameplan to get it into the endzone. [ [link removed] ]So before the big game kicks
off, join us in speaking up in support of ending HIV/AIDS for
good.

Hi John,

20 years ago today was a BIG day in the fight against HIV/AIDS, marking
the announcement of PEPFAR (The US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS
Relief). Over the past two decades, US leadership in this fight has helped
save a remarkable 25 million lives.

In 2003, HIV/AIDS was a death sentence to most people in the hardest hit
countries. By providing access to life-saving treatment and testing,
PEPFAR brought hope and has empowered people to live healthy and
productive lives.

But that doesn’t mean we can sit on our heels. AIDS is still a crisis,
claiming almost 2,000 lives per day. [ [link removed] ]If you agree that we must ensure
that PEPFAR gets the support it needs to end HIV/AIDS, join
