I am honored to have been appointed by Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries to serve as Ranking Member of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.

As a physician and public health expert, I’m eager to take an equity-based and patient-centered approach to identify common-sense solutions that will protect our nation’s health.

Folks, when I became a physician, I took an oath to do no harm. That oath would ring hollow if I didn’t fight to protect the American people from dangerous misinformation that clouds our public discourse and health response.

So I want to be clear. I’ll have no patience for conspiracy theories, COVID deniers, or “alternative facts” when I serve on this committee.

And look, team – I won’t win any friends from across the aisle when I call out their nonsense and COVID lies. And with National Republicans already fighting to unseat me, this will only ramp up their attacks.
