News from Representative Larson

Dear Friends,

We passed vital infrastructure funding in Congress to repair roads and bridges, rebuild our transportation system, and create good-paying union jobs. Today, more than 55 projects are underway in Connecticut that are transforming our region.

Below is a look at some of the projects supported by federal funds across the First District.

In addition to these projects, the Connecticut delegation worked together to secure funding for several statewide initiatives to modernize our state’s infrastructure for the 21st Century:

  • We are building out affordable, high-speed internet to every home and business in the state to close the digital divide. 130,000 households in Connecticut have already enrolled in the Affordable Connectivity Program, lowering their internet bills by up to $30 per month. Find out if you are eligible and apply at GetInternet.gov.
  • We created the first ever federal program dedicated to replacing lead service pipes. Last month, the Lead Service Line Replacement Accelerator was launched to ensure communities have the resources and assistance they need to safely remove and replace lead pipes.
  • With 248 bridges across the state in poor condition, we secured the largest investment in bridge repairs since the 1950s. This funding is supporting efforts to fortify Hartford’s Bulkeley Bridge, one of the last stone arch bridges in New England and one of the most congested in the country, as well as Windsor’s Bissell Bridge

I will continue to fight for more federal funding and resources for Connecticut’s First District. To follow what I’m working on both in Washington and in Connecticut, visit my Facebook page, follow me on Twitter, or follow me on Instagram.
