This upcoming election in Virginia is our chance to fully deliver on progress begun — and our chance to turn back the forces that want to divide us and target our rights.
John, I'm absolutely fired up after President Biden's State of the Union address last night! (It certainly helped to see him trip Republicans up on live TV over their hypocrisy on Social Security and Medicare…)
The call to action was clear for all levels of government in our country: it's time to finish the job, build upon the progress that's been made, and fully realize the promise of opportunity and equality that's been made to all Americans.
Here in Virginia, that means fully funding our public schools. It means officially enshrining the right to choose into our Commonwealth's constitution. It means giving every community access to public transportation. It means affordable housing for all. It means treating LGBTQ individuals with dignity. It means ending the cynical efforts to ban books and silence students in the classroom.
I am running for the State Senate to fight for all of this. I'm proud of what I accomplished in the House of Delegates, but I know there's more to be done to finish the job.
