President Joe Biden delivered his State of the Union address this week, where he made false claims about Republicans and the state of our economy and security.
The truth is that his policies have driven our country into an economic and national security crisis.
We are paying substantially more in 2023 for the same goods and services we bought in 2021. When President Biden took office, inflation was at just 1.4%. It spiked to 13% under his watch. Millions of illegal migrants have crossed our southern border along with an unknown number of drugs, terrorists, and weapons. December set a new record high for migration, with monthly encounters exceeding 250,000. Meanwhile, our biggest adversary, China, is emboldened by this administration's foreign policy failures and continues to test America’s resolve, as seen with the recent spy balloon incursion into U.S. airspace.
One point the President and I agree on is that oil and gas WILL be essential for years to come. The difference is that Republicans have laid the groundwork to improve our energy infrastructure and prioritize energy security.
My hope is that the President will correct course and work with the legislative agenda that House Republicans are proposing to restore American energy dominance, bring down inflation, secure the border, and make our government accountable again.
