‌ ‌ WEEKLY UPDATE February 10th, 2023 Dear Kansas friends, Thank you for your interest in receiving my newsletter. Please feel free to share this with your friends and family. Holding Communist China Accountable This week I voted to condemn Communist China for using a high-altitude surveillance balloon to spy on Americans in Kansas and other states across the country.  The United States must hold the CCP accountable for their complete disregard for American sovereignty. The CCP spy balloon has finally been shot down by the US Military. However, the fact is, the Biden administration knew about this surveillance device for almost a week and allowed it to remain in U.S. airspace and travel across our entire country. The American people deserve answers. First Meeting of The House Appropriations Committee The first meeting of the House Appropriations Committee in the 118th Congress was held this week.  I look forward to working to ensure our hard-earned tax dollars are being spent responsibly in Washington. Let's get to work! Oversight Committee Delivers Accountability Government officials colluded with Big Tech to censor the Hunter Biden Laptop story days before the 2020 election. This is a clear violation of our First Amendment rights & we must ensure it never happens again.  This week, the Oversight Committee delivered accountability for the American people. Read more HERE The Oversight Committee held a hearing on Biden's border crisis. I asked Border Patrol agents what immediate actions we can take to secure the border and stop criminals, drugs, and human trafficking from flowing into our country. Watch: HERE The Oversight Committee learned this week that the New York Post's legitimate reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop didn't violate any policies but Twitter colluded with government officials to censor it anyway. Americans deserve accountability for this outright attack on our First Amendment rights. Watch HERE Hundreds of billions of dollars were stolen from taxpayers in pandemic relief fraud.  Here's what we learned in the Oversight Committee this week: Proper guardrails would have prevented this theft Congress must find ways to better track federal spending Rushing over $5 trillion of spending left pandemic funding vulnerable to fraud Failures of the Biden Administration President Biden talked a lot about how strong he thinks the American economy is, but that’s not at all what I’m hearing from folks back in Kansas. WATCH HERE President Biden has no problem spending $400 million in his massive omnibus bill for border security in the Middle East, but funding technology to help secure AMERICA'S southern border is too expensive.  Ridiculous. It is Time to Move America Forward Even President Biden agrees with Republicans—the COVID pandemic is over. This week I voted to END the COVID-19 national emergency. It's time to move America forward." Working Together to Help Farmer's Succeed It was great meeting with folks from Kansas Wheat to talk about the upcoming Farm Bill and how we can work together to help farmers across Kansas succeed. Happy Birthday, President Reagan "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same." Happy Birthday to one of the greatest Presidents in American history, Ronald Reagan!
