I thought we had clarity in NC. We had passed a Constitutional amendment, which was also approved by voters.
The partisan Democrat activists on the NC Supreme Court overrode the will of the voters of North Carolina, and invalidated our Voter ID Constitutional Amendment.
Thankfully, the composition of the NC Supremes changed this past election, and they are due to reconsider that decision. They are also due to reconsider their invalidation of the Congressional maps, drawn by our Republican-controlled state legislature.
That means there is a good chance I'll finally be running under fair maps- and with Voter ID- when I run in 2024!
But we are seeing legal chaos in Arizona too.
You see, my friend Wendy Rogers helped pass a robust set of election integrity laws there in 2022, many of which were signed into law.
You might have heard though, that despite those laws being broken and ignored by the Democrat Secretary of State there, that the courts so far have let Democrat Katie Hobbs get away with a narrow, questionable win.
The fact is this: that there is legal chaos surrounding our elections right now, because there is no legal clarity. The laws aren't clear, jurisdiction isn't clear, and many judges just won't follow the law.
This is madness. If we want election integrity, we MUST go all the way with a Constitutional Amendment, it's the only way to achieve legal clarity.
Spread the word about my Constitutional Amendment- the first of its kind!
"No members of Congress shall be seated, nor any Electoral College electors be counted, from any state that does not have:
a. photograph identification requirement to vote;
b. elections in person, and on the first Tuesday in November, excepting absentee provisions for the invalid, military, or overseas voters;
c. paper ballots, counted by hand;
d. vote count open to observation by the public, and by representatives of the candidates on the ballot."
Every time our country had a question about elections, five times in all, we passed a Constitutional Amendment.
The NC Supreme Court was wrong to overturn an Amendment for Voter ID here. Even if they rectify that issue now, let's take it out of their hands- for good.
