Dear John,

February may be the shortest month of the year, but that doesn’t make it any less busy. I’ll share what I’ve been working on for Indiana’s First Congressional District in just a moment, but first, can you pitch in any amount to help our campaign stay on track with our February fundraising?

I officially have my committee assignments for the 118th Congress. Here’s what I’m working on:

House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs

To recognize the selfless service and bravery of our veterans, I will work to build on the progress we made last term.

I was proud to author legislation to ensure veterans receive critical benefits that was signed into law. I also advanced legislation to improve accountability and transparency of the electronic health record modernization program at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

We must honor our promises to our veterans and continue fighting to secure the health care coverage and benefits they have earned.

House Committee on Education and the Workforce

As a member of the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions, I will advocate for workers and organized labor’s efforts to grow our economy and provide members with safe working environments, sound retirements, and good-paying jobs.

I’ll keep up my fight to pass the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act so that all workers have the ability to collectively bargain and form unions. I will also push for additional Buy America requirements to support American workers and manufacturers.

When we give our workers the resources to thrive, our communities and economy thrive, too.
