It’s happening - we’re beating the Tories from north to south!



Last night we won two council by-elections in style, unseating the
Conservatives yet again.

In Cheltenham and North Yorkshire, Lib Dems stormed to victory.

Ed Chidley took Battledown in Cheltenham from the Tories, whilst Felicity
Cunliffe-Lister, the Countess of Swinton, gained from them in Masham and
Fountains in North Yorkshire.

Both results show the Tories are in deep trouble - and it’s the Lib Dems who
are beating them in their former heartlands.

Battledown has elected a Tory councillor every single time since the ward was
created - even when Cheltenham had a Lib Dem MP, Battledown was solidly Tory.

Yet yesterday, Battledown went gold for the first time ever.

Cheltenham is a must-win constituency for us at the next General Election. In
2019 the Conservatives held on here with a slashed majority of just 981.
Yesterday’s win shows change is coming in Cheltenham.

Likewise, North Yorkshire’s Masham and Fountains has been firmly in the blue
column for as long as anyone can remember. It borders both Rishi Sunak’s
Richmond constituency and the target seat of Harrogate & Knaresborough. Yet
last night, it turned gold, just like Battledown.

For the Tories, their resounding defeat in Masham & Fountains was even more
humiliating - as Felicity’s family home was once a base for training future
Tory MPs. Her win even made theDaily Mail

We know Ed and Felicity will be fabulous local councillors and deliver
positive change for communities the Tories took for granted.

Their wins show the Tories can be beaten - and we need your help now to make
sure we do just that.

Large swathes of England elect councillors in under 100 days’ time. The clock
is ticking on a General Election which cannot be more than 21 months away.



So now is the time to join our campaign to make change happen.
