Hello Friend,
It’s rare to find someone with firsthand knowledge of countries like North Korea, much less somebody who can present this information in a compelling way.
I want to introduce you to Grace Jo, a Dissident Speaker from North Korea.
In the 90s, North Korea suffered one of the world’s worst famines.
During that time, Grace only ate about one meal a week — a little rice, maybe some vegetables, or sometimes even mice if they could catch one.
In 1998, her grandmother and younger brothers all passed away because of starvation. Grace and her younger brother survived for 10 days straight with only cold water to drink.
Her father was tortured, starved to death, and passed away when North Korean agents transferred him from a detention center to jail; his “crime” was leaving his country for food for his family.
This is just a small part of Grace’s story, Friend — a small part of what she shares with students through the Dissident Program.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Casey Given, executive director of Young Voices. Our initiative, the Dissident Project, provides high school students with first-hand accounts of life under the horrors of socialism.
Dissident Program speakers have already spoken with nearly 5,000 students. And we still have dozens of schools to visit this year!
You can bring this once-in-a-lifetime experience to high school students.
Will you donate $10, $35, $50, or any amount to bring this life-changing experience to high schools? Click here to send your gift >>>
Each one of these visits leaves a huge impact on students and even teachers. See what people are saying about our speaker, Grace Jo!
Grace provides an opportunity that many of these students will never have and shares her tough experiences in an age-appropriate and compelling way.

Most high school students don’t understand how life under socialism really is.
We provide them with access to informed, intelligent perspectives on how authoritarianism takes hold, what happens when it does, and what America can learn from current and former socialist states around the world.
And it’s needed right now because public schools don’t teach how socialism can transform a prosperous country into a nightmare, steal away people's humanity, and give monsters the reins of government.
Our speakers have seen the horrors with their own eyes and escaped to tell the tale.
Can I count on you to bring these speakers to high school classrooms? Click below to send your gift.
