John,

UPDATE: Joe Biden was at the University of Tampa yesterday--right in the faces of Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott in their home state--where he showed that none of the fire that he had during the State of the Union had been extinguished one bit:

"I know a lot of Republicans, their dream is to cut Social Security and Medicare. Let me say this, if that's your dream, I'm your nightmare" - President Joe Biden.

On the priorities & policies we care about, President Biden has been unbelievable. To the commentariat in mainstream media--who care only for performance, often to our great detriment--he was unparalleled in his State of the Union, and everything he’s said since. To the whining, slithering snakes of the GOP, he was unbowed.

President Biden rightfully bragged this Tuesday about the 500,000+ jobs he created in January, lowest unemployment since before we walked on the Moon. He called for a national abortion rights guarantee for a ban on all assault weapons. But it's how he did it that was even better.

He brought both strength and humility, humor and purpose, and Republicans had no idea whether to stand and clap, sit on their hands or scream "liar" as Marjorie Taylor Greene did. The President handled that brilliantly, chuckling and telling her and her cohort of kooks he had the proof if they wanted to see it.

Former GOP Rep. Kinzinger, one of 10 Republicans who stood up to Trump to vote for impeachment, knew what he was seeing:

The President even suckered Republicans into publicly booing the idea of cutting Social Security, and then with a smile said he was glad there was "unity" on that topic, which will be news to Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham and Rick Scott.

President Biden was everything we elected and fought for. Now we need to get him reelected in what will be an election matching the importance of 2020, Lincoln's win in 1860 or FDR in 1932. All three had to fight right-wing, democracy assaulting tyrants of their time, but we don't yet know how Joe Biden's story--and, hence, ours--will end. We have control over this one though--It's Up To Us.

So can you join us in giving the President of the United States--OUR PRESIDENT--$5, $10, $25 or anything you can manage, so we make sure we do not go gently into that good night? That we support President BIden 1000% in this fight.

Thank you for defending the right person at a crucial time in our history.

Cliff

About BlueAmp Action:

We cannot sugarcoat the current situation. Right-wing authoritarianism, defeated by a worldwide coalition during WWII, was only in hibernation. Over the past decade it has infected democratic societies--including ours. It is as simple as it is terrifying: What we do now will define the future of our country and world.

We at Blue Amp Action are dedicated to liberal, open societies, where reason and science are applied to solve our problems; where civil rights--including voting rights!--are protected for all. We fight for these values every day. Speaking up on our platforms, raising the voices and the political prospects of liberal pols and pundits.

And savvy grassroots activists like you know, just like we do, that we can’t stop watching the people we help elect: after the elections, we have to keep organizing support for the policies we like and pushing back against the ones we don’t.

When the public tunes out between elections and the only people our elected officials hear from are the paid lobbyists of wealthy corporations, our government stops being accountable to the needs of ordinary families.

Democracy never sleeps, and neither can we.

So we ask that you support our work, so we can continue to engage in this fight every moment of every day. So our kids grow up in democracy, not dystopia.

Thank you for your support for all we do! Please follow Cliff Schecter on Twitter @cliffschecter, or subscribe to The Takedown with Cliff Schecter on YouTube, to keep up to date with this battle for the heart and soul of our country.
