Medallion Hunt Update
The City is deeply sorry to the Mendota Heights community and to all of the medallion hunters for the City?s error in this year?s?Frozen Fun Fest Medallion Hunt. The clues were not published as they were designed and that darkened the event for all participants including the family who found the medallion. The family who found the medallion has declined to accept this year?s prize. We understand that the event is something that many members of the community have been looking forward to as an opportunity to connect with the City?s parks and trails and enjoy the winter weather and that this error ruined some of that fun.
The City is converting its website to a new platform. Clues for the medallion hunt that were scheduled to be publicly posted each day for the next week were accidentally viewable within an archive function of the City?s website. City staff did not become aware of this glitch until the medallion was reported as found. ?All clues for the entire medallion hunt were viewable through a simple Google search. It is unfortunate that the City discovered this at the expense of the medallion hunt.
Again we are deeply sorry for this mistake, we invite the community to come out to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend for all the fun events that are a part of the?2023 Frozen Fun Fest.
This year?s Frozen Fun Fest Medallion Hunt built off of the theme of it being the second year the City hosted a medallion hunt. The medallion was hidden in Wentworth Park at the base of a tree that split into two trunks.

Airport News?
Airlines Operated Larger Aircraft at MSP in 2022 to Meet Increasing Passenger Demand?
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) surpassed 310,000 operations in 2022, an increase of 2% compared to 2021. Meanwhile, passenger activity increased by 24% to 31,241,822 total passengers.
The greater increase in the number of passengers compared to the increase in the number of flights is related to a shift in MSP?s current airline fleet mix. Airlines are using aircraft with more seats per flight across their route networks, resulting in more passengers across fewer operations. ?
