Today, as we honor Martin Luther King Jr. and his monumental legacy, let us not only remember the power of his achievements -- but let us also renew our commitment to that same work of his life-long struggle for freedom, justice, and equality for all.
King understood that for the promise of our democracy to be fulfilled, every American's right to vote must be fully and equally protected.
That's why I was proud to co-sponsor the House-passed Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 4), which would restore the Voting Rights Act that King fought for to its full power and allow the federal government to take action against states with a record of discriminatory voting practices.
The 2020 elections are around the corner, and millions of Americans are at risk of being denied their fundamental right to vote. We must speak out -- sign on to call on Mitch McConnell to do the right thing for our democracy and bring H.R. 4 up for a vote immediately!

This shouldn't be a partisan issue. Voter suppression is an attack on our democracy, and we all have a stake in ensuring that every American is heard at the ballot box.
We must act to protect the democratic will of our country,
Sean
