Dear John,
My name is Maurice Nizeyimana and I work as the Country Director for Health Poverty Action in Rwanda. I'm responsible for developing and overseeing our work across the country - supporting communities to improve people's health, wellbeing and livelihoods.
We’ve found that collaborating with a wide range of people - from community leaders and health workers to teachers and government officials – enables us to make a much greater impact in people’s lives.
I'd like to ask if you would be willing to join the Health Poverty Action Community by making a monthly donation and contribute to our work with communities in Rwanda and across the world.
Please join our global community and support health for all! [[link removed]]
You may recall we recently shared news of our work with women and girls who've experienced gender-based violence. In addition to helping women and girls access vital health, social and legal support, the 'safe centres' that we established in rural communities provide spaces where women and girls can support each other, learn skills and develop enterprises together.
Crucially, these 'safe centres' also enable other community members, including families, volunteers and health professionals, to collaborate and engage with issues around gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and women's empowerment.
If nineteen people each gave £10 a month, this could pay for a social worker who ensures the most vulnerable and marginalised women and girls get the support they need in their communities.
Please make a monthly donation today and support communities to improve people's lives and livelihoods! [[link removed]]
We find that the best solutions to people’s immediate problems normally involve drawing on the resources that exist in the community. Collective action and mutual support in Rwanda is known as 'Ubudehe', where each community strives to find solutions to its own challenges.
As we continue our work with communities in Rwanda and internationally, I would like to thank you for your support and invite you once again to join our global community.
Yours faithfully,
Maurice Nizeyimana
Country Director, Rwanda
