The Super Bowl is the most-watched event in America every year, and this weekend’s game will be no exception. As Director of Team Freedom, IJM’s pro-athlete community, I like to use this big event to highlight just how huge the issue of human trafficking is.
While all eyes will be on the Super Bowl on this special Sunday, the fight against human trafficking must happen 365 days of the year. Currently there are almost 50 million children, women and men being trafficked or trapped in modern slavery, making it one of the largest and fastest-growing criminal industries in the world.
The fact is, on any given day, the number of child victims of trafficking and abuse could fill Glendale’s State Farm Stadium 189 times.
